  • Research assistant

    The University of Applied Arts Vienna is looking for a Full-Time Research Assistant (40 hours per week, limited for 3 years), to support the Head of Fashion (Professor Grace Wales Bonner) at the Institute of Design.


    The Fashion Department of the Angewandte is one of the world’s most renowned higher education institutions in the field of fashion design.
    Angewandte appoints internationally renowned designers to lead the department to give students a world class education.
    The current Head of Fashion is looking for a person who, through their knowledge, experience and commitment, will be able to contribute to the ongoing development and expertise of the Fashion Design Department.
    Employment Requirements:
    - Completed University or college degree in Fashion Design
    Applicants should have:
    Several years of relevant work experience in an international context and an international professional network
    Excellent understanding of contemporary fashion discourse
    Teaching experience is beneficial
    Excellent organizational and communication skills
    Excellent team working skills
    Gender competence and intercultural/transcultural competence
    Excellent spoken and written English

    Areas of responsibility:
    - Support and guidance of students in the planning and development of design projects (module and project based work related to the development of a collection and portfolio advancement, among others)
    - Teaching work
    - Concept and project development
    - Managing an array of different projects for the Fashion Department in cooperation with other members of the team
